Household spending hits a ten-year high

We spend more on our transports than anything else and we love a package holiday. We also spent more over 2016-2017 than in over a decade.

These are among the findings revealed by the ONS’s annual Family Spending survey. Over the last year, the average household in the UK spent £554.20, marking its highest level since the financial crisis.

It tells us that England is the only one of the UK countries to spend above £500.00 a week on average or that this is the highest-spending year for UK families since 2006.
