Its aim is to welcome those from diverse backgrounds to fellowship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the pandemic, the community was lost due to the lack of social events and no funding. The society was going to be no longer. This year, ACS have made a huge change and the team are determined to continue their success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACS President Simi Joko said: \u201cThe general consensus was ACS wasn\u2019t doing enough. This year I thought let\u2019s change it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s less covid restrictions let\u2019s have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ACS are currently working closely with GK unions, and held their first big event in The Deep end, Medway Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The venue reached full capacity as over 400 tickets were sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;GK Unions said the event had an amazing turnout and invited the ACS to host an event on November 19th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simi Joko, sees the future of the society as bright and hopes to do even bigger things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACS Creatives Officer, Daniella Bassler said: \u201cWhen I first started Uni that was thing I looked for, so when I found, it was going to close, I was really upset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People need societies like this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ACS are also in collaboration with other universities across the UK, in a game show called The Big Clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\u2019re encouraging people to join and showcase their talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniella Bassler said: \u201cIt\u2019s more of a communal thing, everyone can get together and have a chance to be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The ACS hope to continue their success as the academic year progresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find more information on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instagram: @acs_medway<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twitter: @acsmedway21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kentunion.co.uk\/activities\/african-caribbean\">https:\/\/kentunion.co.uk\/activities\/african-caribbean<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee Washington<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Afro Caribbean society Medway (ACS) has become a vital group for minority students in university.
