The annual Broadstairs Folk Week is back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;to the 12<sup>th of<\/sup>&nbsp;August, there will be plenty of activities in Broadstairs to fill in your week, including 35 acoustic sessions, 70 workshops, 13 Ceilidhs and dances, 21 family free shows, craft and music fair, children\u2019s events, Morris dancers and a festival campsite.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Broadstairs Folk week began over 50 years ago, as Jack Hamilton wanted to revive and celebrate the traditions of English folk music and dance in the Southeast. He settled in the perfect seaside town in Broadstairs and expanded \u2018The Folk Show\u2019. Due to Hamilton, funding and sponsorship came from the district Council, and in the early 70\u2019s the festival became well known in the folk world. This secured extra grants and sponsorships, and even a Development grant from the Arts Council, meaning more workshops and dance events were added to the festival.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although, Broadstairs folk week in a non-profit organisation with an amazing army of volunteers who make sure the week runs smoothly.
