Franck Ribery has been ruled out of the World Cup by manager Didier Deschamps with the France and Bayern Munich winger suffering from a back injury.
Ribery had been following an individual training programme in the hope that he would be able to return in time, however a fitness test on Friday ruled him out.
Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has also been ruled out with a thigh injury.
The pair will be replaced by Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin and Montpellier’s Newcastle target Remy Cabella.
