Court hearing postponed for Depp and Heard

amber-heard-johnny-deppAfter a four-year relationship between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, following with a divorce filing, the court hearing involving domestic violence from Depp has been postponed. The case, which was meant to be heard today has been delayed until August 15 and 16.

Heard has issued a restraining order for Depp, claiming that he was “verbally and physically abusive” towards her throughout the length of their whole relationship.

The reason for the postponement was decided after a phone call on Thursday between the lawyers for Depp (53) and Heard (30) and the judge.

Depp’s attorney, Christopher Melcher stated that this delay allows DeppĀ more time to round up more witnesses in order to withstand the abuse allegations made by his estranged wife. As for Heard, the restraining order against Depp will be in effect until the next court hearing.

On 23 May, Heard filed for divorce, asking for spousal support and citing clashing differences. Amber showed up at Los Angeles courthouse with a bruised face, claiming that Depp threw a cell phone at her face. These events took place just a few days after the death of Depp’s beloved mother, Betty Sue Palmer.

The filed papers for the court included Heard saying that Depp makes her live “in fear” of him and that he had a history of “drug and alcohol abuse”. On May 27, the judge granted a temporary restraining order for Depp to stay away from Heard for at least 100 yards.
