Death at The Conjuring 2

It has been reported that a 65 year old man has died while watching the highly anticipated horror movie – The Conjuring 2, which finally reached cinemas at the end of last week. Set in 1977, the film (based on true events) follows the supernatural investigation of Lorraine and Ed Warren when travel to Enfield, London.

According to witnesses, the 65 year old man complained of chest pains, during the most dramatic part of the movie (starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) at theĀ Sri Balasubramaniar Cinemas in Tiruvannamalai, South India on Thursday evening.

According to The Indian Times, the Andhra Pradesh native was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors. However, reports have also begun to surface that the man’s body has now in fact gone missing after doctor’s asked man’s friend to deliver his body to the local morgue for post-mortem. Police are now investigating the man’s body and also his missing friend who has supposedly disappeared with the body.

The dead man was apparently staying at Ashram, a spiritual hermitage where witnesses have claimed that they noticed the man carrying his friend’s dead body into their accommodation although police are on the mission to find out where their current location may be along with their identities.

This is not the only supernatural occurrence that has followed from this movie. Previously this week, a video of a girl supposedly being ‘possessed’ went viral on Twitter. Could it be that these events will lead fans to being put off seeing the film?

Kelly Johnson, 19 stated that ‘Although the full details surrounding this case have yet to be revealed to the public, the story with the other girl being possessed is going viral, some people might be a little apprehensive about seeing this film’. However, she also continued to state that she was ‘proud to have seen it and survived’ and also revealed that she found the new film much more frightening than the first with ‘more jump scares and a tense atmosphere throughout’ with Vera Farmiga bringing in an excellent portrayal of Lorraine Warren. Nirali, 21 who has also been to view The Conjuring 2 (which hasĀ grossed more than $104 million worldwide since it’s release this month) and stated that it was ‘very different from the first film and caused many jumps and screams’. Reader’s of The Daily Mail however, don’t seem too put off by this news.
