Andrew Greene the former business partner of Jordan Belfort (The real life ‘Wolf of Wall Street’) claims the film ruins his reputation and is filing a $23 million defamation lawsuit.
Actor P.J Byrne playing Nicky “Rugrat” Koskoff (the character based on Greene) in the 2013 film Wolf of Wall Street.
Greene is suing Paramount Pictures and others who were closely associated with the film, stating he was unfairly depicted.
The Academy Award Winner Leonardo Dicaprio will be deposed and subjected to many questions due to his heavy involvement in the production of the film. According to a court filing he is “knowledgeable regarding significant issues within the case”. The suit states “The motion picture depicts Mr Greene as a drug-dealing degenerate”. It is rumoured the actor will be speaking on behalf of his production team.
DiCaprio and the Paramount Picture representatives have yet to realise a statement.
