On Thursday, Pope Francis said that the majority of young Catholic marriages are invalid, as young people do not understand the sanctity of marriage. He voiced this opinion during a question and answer session with priests, nuns and parish workers at the St Johns Basilica.
He is quoted to have said that “a great majority of our sacramental marriages are null because they [young people] say ‘for the rest of my life’ but they don’t know what they are saying because they have different culture.”
