A new audiovisual event<\/a> is collating memories of Kent beaches. \u2018It\u2019s Where We Go\u2019 aims to encapsulate feelings ranging from nostalgia and loss to community and hope. The event, once a live performance performed across the South East coastline, has gone online due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event includes Whitstable, Herne Bay, Folkestone and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event co-creator and artist, Tiffany Murphy<\/a> said the move to the digital space had affected the experience in a positive way. \u201cIt\u2019s changed the message of the event – it\u2019s now a symbol of good times ahead.\u201d The message of hope is \u201cpoignant\u201d now in times like these and Tiffany acknowledges that looking back at happier times may be the way forward now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The audiovisual element is combined with photography from Ian Howorth<\/a> who captures moments of calm and joy at the beach. \u201cIt\u2019s designed to transport you onto the seaside seeing as many have had that luxury taken from them.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sounds used in experience are all seaside-esque, fitting well with that element of transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiffany added the story range aims to cover an array of emotions. \u201cFrom happy to sad, some traumatic, whimsical, sometimes conversations like gentrification migration of youth. But all of the stories have the seaside at the heart of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked the best way to experience the event, Tiffany recommended that the audience take the time to think and reflect while listening. The audience is encouraged to share their own memories to create a living archive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
