Residents of the area have raised concerns over the impact of this on the environment and air quality. After he got us into this mess it is only right. The \u2018Farage Garage\u2019 becoming official would be a fitting and lasting legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event of a disruption at Dover or the Eurotunnel, the site, officially named the \u2018Sevington Inland Border Facility\u2019, will be used to hold up to 1,700 HGVs. This is in a desperate bid to avoid long queues on the M20.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Absolutely the Farage Garage. They have until 26<sup>th <\/sup>October to submit feedback to \u201chelp shape details of the planning submission\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cllr Paul Bartlett (Con) lives close to the site, he said: \u201c&#8221;It is not an opportunity for the Remainers to have a go at Brexit, but it is an opportunity for the people who want to genuinely have a say about the impact it will have on the community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The northern section of the site will initially be used for HMRC custom checks and filing paperwork for truckers, with the southern plot becoming a holding area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is anticipated that despite the uproar, the Secretary of State will demand lorries continue to be checked onto the land until 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Brexit lorry park in Ashford is set to be ready for the transition period in December, after four months of work have already taken place.
