Under the direction of young writer and actor, Kayode Ewumi, <em>Enterprice<\/em> has an entirely new perspective which has been praised by British audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so great to see representation for artforms representing communities often misrepresented and mixing it with light-hearted humour, as well as a special drive to build a business,\u201d says Maxine, <a href=\"https:\/\/remireports.com\/enterprice-on-bbc-season-2-review\/\">a blogger<\/a>, wrote about the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kayode Ewumi, the creator of the show explained that he wanted to create a show which showed a different perspective of the lives of British black people than what he saw in the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SO! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to tell this story.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was taken completely by surprise when his producer texted him that the show was being brought to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/gb\/\">Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter, there has been a greater focus on content such as <em>Enterprice<\/em> that have been created or include black people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since June, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/entertainment-arts-53135022\">BBC<\/a> has announced that it is committing \u00a3100 million of its TV budget to produce &#8220;diverse and inclusive content&#8221; over the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adesola Akrerele is a young screenwriter from Hartfordshire. She declared: \u201cWhat\u2019s happened with George Floyd and the spark of the Black Lives Matter Movement has definitely woken the industry up that they need to bring change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She pointed out that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.televisual.com\/news\/neal-street-announces-new-bame-screenwriter-bursary\/\">Neal Street Productions<\/a> also created a new BAME screenwriter bursary aimed at supporting and training new Black, Asian and ethnic minority screenwriters. They were the production company behind Oscar and BAFTA-winning <em>1917<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the industry has opened up for acting and writing roles for black people, it has not so much for behind the scene roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leon Lopez is a Manchester-based TV director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has directed episodes of soaps such as <em>Hollyoaks<\/em>, <em>Emmerdale<\/em> and <em>Coronation Streets<\/em> as well as his own films. There needs to be more of a push for these job roles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Lopez added that successful black showrunners, such as Kayode Ewumi, empower black people and other people of colour by showing that these roles are achievable and are a valid job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the day, Kayode Ewumi\u2019s main hope is that <em>Enterprice<\/em> opens the doors for black creators to create new stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cI hope that young black writers will watch it and say to themselves it\u2019s possible to make a show that is fun and has nothing to do with the ends.
