An orphaned seal pup has been released back into the wild following rehabilitation in Norfolk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seal was named in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore, the veteran pensioner who raised \u00a330 million for the NHS this summer. <\/p>\n\n\n

Sir Tom the Seal was born premature and was separated from his mother, and was rescued at Holkham beach in May this year. He weighed only nine kilos at the time. Sir Tom was sent to Sea Life Hunstanton and it was there that he was named after the 100-year-old fundraising hero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff at Sea Life have said that without intervention, he definitely wouldn’t have survived. They rehydrated him and fed him a diet of fish soup for five months until he had fully recovered. He was rehabilitated in their specialist seal rescue centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
