Young girl through to next round of the Voice Kids after the fourth year of auditioning

This is the voice of 11-year-old Lilly Brown from Sittingbourne in Kent, who is through to the third round of the Voice Kids auditions for ITV.

“This is my fourth year auditioning now. Now that I am 11, I have learnt a lot more skills to help me with my singing,” she said.

Rebecca Brown is Lilly’s mum, and she says she has been singing for as long as she can remember.

“As soon as she could start talking, she was singing, singing away wasn’t you always copying everything,” said Rebecca.

For the next round of the Voice, Lilly will travel to ITV’s headquarters in London on the 5th of November where she will perform three songs and be interviewed by the show’s producers.

“I’m going to be singing ‘All Coming back to me now’ by Celine Dion, ‘All I Want’ by Olivia Rodrigo and ‘I See Red’ by Everybody Loves an Outlaw.

Shanel Ingram-Spice

Shanel Ingram-Spice is the Deputy Head of Dream Academy and is Lilly’s singing teacher. She remembers when they first discovered Lilly’s talent.

““Me and my colleague Dayzee, we were in a lesson, and we could hear this voice and we just like got every single student to sing on their own and we recognised that it was Lilly’s voice,” said Miss Spice.

The audition process is long and can be disheartening when you get through and then get rejected, but Lilly’s singing teacher has said that it is her resilience that keeps her auditioning.

“She is one of these students that even if she doesn’t get through, she will be like I will do it again next year and it’s been like that since she was eight, and her singing technique is better than most adult singers that I know, I’m hoping that it’s her year,” said Miss Spice.

Kent could have its next rising star in Lilly, and we hope to see her on our TV screens very soon.
