First Awards Week for Chatham’s newest Gymnastics club

The newest gymnastics club in Chatham is set to host their first awards week next week. The club which trains its students in either gymnastics or ninja skills and caters for children from one and a half up to age 13.

The specialist coaching team at Gymfinity Kids Chatham have created a unique award scheme that helps children showcase their development, progress and achievements through movements and physical activity.

All of the movement programmes are structured and divided into skill stages. As the children attend their weekly class, they are provided with a well balanced experience of all movement elements as they develop through each level. And after every session coaches  tick off a checklist of skills to move the children in their squad up to the next level.

The classes are small with a maximum of six students in each squad which means practice is made around the students’ strengths and weakness and those smaller groups mean coaches can build stronger relationships with their class and get them to reach their full potential.

Coach Alexis, who trains children from a beginner level to advanced from age 7 and up, tells us about how the club caters for the upcoming event ” our club is a club centralised around progress no matter how big or small…we try to be as inclusive as possible so everyone will get certificates but hard work and dedication will get you to go up levels.”

Some children have even signed up to take award intensive workshops on offer this half term to ensure they gain their next level and progress faster.

Children who take classes at Gymfinity have the luxury of being able to use their wide range of state-of-the-art equipment that’s on offer. The kids who train will have their practice regularly alternated been the bars, beams, trampolines, volt and floor skills. This ensure children continue to have varied classes each week and gain further confidence.

Freddie Baker, has been attending classes for 4 months now and has had his personalised training focused on the bars, after his training session he told us how he feels about the event, “I’m so excited for awards week, I’m currently level five but hopefully i’ll get level 6. I’ve been practicing my casts with much better form so hopefully I’ll be able to get that award.”
