A student from Kent has been unable to attend their university lectures in person at all this year due to pain caused by Ehlers Danlos syndrome.
Arwen Waters, originally from Parkwood, Kent, studies Psychology with Criminology at De Montfort University in Leicester, but the syndrome which affects their connective tissues has left them wheelchair bound.
Almost two years into their course, Ms Waters is concerned about the impact of their health condition on their studies.
They said: “I’ve felt like I’ve almost lost the nine grand, or whatever it costs for uni this year, because I haven’t been able to go in to my lessons and lectures.
“It’s education I would like to have had.
“It’s definitely acting as a barrier.”
