On October 15, at 10 p.m., a small group of walkers set out on a 55-kilometer trek from London Victoria to Chatham. This is the sixth year of the Soup-to-Soup sponsored walk, which is a strenuous overnight challenge for the walkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walk brought in much-needed funds for the charity’s ongoing expenses. They contribute to the provision of services such as food parcels, appointment support, outreach programmes, and soup meals for those who are homeless or living in unstable housing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the volunteers had a difficult trip ahead of them, they were determined to raise funds and awareness for the community of rough sleepers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Soup-to-Soup walk raised almost 20,000 pounds, but more significantly, it helped people realise the everyday struggles of rough sleepers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volunteers began in London Victoria and travelled for 14 hours straight through the night with only 5 pauses to get a true sense of how it feels and how difficult it can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day at 2:30 pm, a steel band and a sign choir greeted them as they arrived in Chatham Highstreet, beautifully tying this event together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events like this are happening more frequently to raise awareness for charities as such so we can help the vulnerable community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
