The death of a woman in Ashford town centre has led to the town’s hot-spot to be cordoned off.
Police were called to Ashford High Street around 11:30pm on Thursday night, after reports of an unresponsive woman.
After emergency services arrived, the woman was pronounced deceased.
Roads have been blocked by police presence ever since and shops around the area have remained closed today.
A witness is reported to have seen ten police officers and three police cars at the scene.
A spokesperson from the force has said: “Police were called following a report a woman had been found unresponsive in Ashford high street.
Officers attended along with the ambulance service and the woman was later pronounced deceased. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries.”
More details are yet to be released.
