A young man was stabbed to death on Canterbury High Street last night. Four men have been arrested shortly after the incident. There is no information on the motives behind the attack.

Canterbury High Street has seen a slew of arrests recently, but this is the first involving violence.

Many of the High Streets remain blocked off, including Guildhall Street and Stour Street behind the Sainsbury’s Local store, where many university students live.

A force spokesman said: “Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was found with injuries consistent with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody while inquiries continue.

“A cordon has been put in place in part of Canterbury High Street and officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries.”
