A magical sky which exaggerated the stars was seen across the UK last night. Residents of Medway were stunned to see the beautiful northern lights, experts say there is potentially more to come.

Aurora borealis sightings could be expected until mid 2025 according to the Royal Astronomical Society. The sun now in its most active state; experts were shocked to see it reached as south as Kent and East Anglia.

Photos were taken across Medway, many were delighted to gaze at the gorgeous vibrant colours that covered the sky.

In Chatham, Sanjeedah was just at home when she looked out of the window to see the visual masterpiece.

On Facebook people responded on special things they did to view the northern lights. Kelly Marsh from Medway drove to Luton Wreck at the top of North Dane way and the Bluebell Hill Village viewpoint with her 14 year old son and enjoyed the amazing view. Sophie Drury also apart of the Gillingham Medway Group enjoyed it from her own garden and stood out in the cold to witness the magic and even shared a photo from May when we had another experience of this.

Despite the positive reactions to the northern lights, and pictures from across Medway, some people were hit with frustrations like Nehal who “Just drove all around Medway to see if he could see the lights with the naked eye, and no luck” – Nehal Sadiq Tarar, Medway.
