There will be plenty of FA Cup action across Kent this weekend as multiple clubs are looking ahead to a crucial fourth qualifying round. With old scores to be settled and the chance for history to be made, three teams are bidding for the chance to challenge themselves against football league opposition.
Dover Athletic will be facing an Eastleigh side looking to avenge a 10-year knockout heartbreak after a close second leg play-off encounter that went to penalties and had all the hallmarks of a classic smash and grab for Dover as they emerged victorious.
Many will be expecting drama in Hampshire again this weekend. Maidstone will also be coming up against some stiff opposition with a long away journey down to Torquay. It will be a familiar route to the Maidstone lads as they are coming off a solid 1-0 away win against the same opposition last week. Torquay will no doubt be looking for some revenge this time round.
Ramsgate are the last of the Kentish sides in the fourth qualifying round as they face a tough away test to AFC Totton. Ramsgate’s season so far has been a mixed bag but they will be looking to push on after good progress already in the cup.
With these games to look forward to, Kent’s non-league sides will certainly be well represented this weekend and there is already a good deal of intrigue to see just how far each side could potentially go, with prize money and FA Cup dreams on the line.
