Having crashed out of the Cricket World Cup this week, England have attracted their fair share of critics following a dismal tournament.

A shocking batting performance across the board, with almost every batsman struggling to find rhythm, while the bowlers haven’t looked potent enough to take wickets on any occasion. It may outline one of the weakest title defences in the history of the 50-over competition, at what could turn out to be the last ever offering of the tournament, as franchise leagues around the world continue to dominate.

It’s tough to see where England go from here, as critics lament the poor front put up by the team. Speaking with Sky Sports, former captain and pundit Michael Atherton, slammed their lack of confidence across the last four weeks.

With four games left in their campaign, expect to see the lineup drastically changed as the selectors seek answers before their tour of the West Indies at the start of December.
