In Canterbury the trial commences for Ibrahima Bah, an asylum seeker over the age of 18, accused of manslaughter and illegal entry into the UK.
Bah faces charges for allegedly steering an inflatable boat across the English Channel on December 14, 2022, carrying a minimum of 43 individuals, resulting in the tragic death of four people.
Despite having no fixed address, Bah vehemently denies the accusations, which include four counts of manslaughter and one count of piloting the boat to facilitate illegal entry into the UK.
The trial is anticipated to extend over a period of four to five weeks and is being held at Canterbury Crown Court.
