In the lead is Jacques Audiard&#8217;s bold musical <em>Emilia P\u00e9rez, <\/em>which has earned 13 nominations and is the most-nominated non-English language film in Oscars history. The film follows a Mexican cartel leader (Karla Sofia Gasc\u00f3n) who enlists a lawyer (Zoe Salda\u00f1a) to help the cartel leader disappear and transition into a woman.
