The acclaimed Chinese author of books such as Wild Swans launched her new title – Big Sister, Little Sister, Red Sister earlier this month. The book depicts the lives of the Song sisters, three women that all played an important part in Chinese life during the 1900s just in very different ways.

“The three sisters were like all time fairytale princesses in mainland China as well as the rest of the Chinese-speaking world,” says Chang.

The author believes it is important for China to learn from its history and believes her works can help. “We can’t go back to Mao’s time,” she says.
