Herne Bay’s The Amy Johnson Project founder Jane Priston talks about the mystery of the pilot’s missing plane

As part of the project, Jane Priston has worked tirelessly to ensure Amy Johnson’s legacy is remembered. The foundation is responsible for several information plaques, a bronze statue of the pilot and a wooden plane bench on the Herne Bay seafront.

With the help of the Canterbury divers, Jane has already uncovered two wartime wrecks in her ongoing search for Amy’s plane. But the work of the project doesn’t stop there alongside remembrance and the search for the wreck the project also aims to inspire young women to take up a career in engineering and aviation like Amy before them.
