Ousseynou Cisse has joined League Two side Leyton Orient on loan for the remainder of the season.

Cisse became Steve Evans’ sixth signing over the summer after leaving MK Dons, but the midfielder has struggled to break into the team in recent weeks and will be plying his trade at the Breyer Group Stadium for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The Malian international scored just once for the Gills, netting the opener in the first home game of the season back in August, but didn’t feature in the league after.

Evans said: “We wish Ouss the very best of luck at Leyton Orient. He’s a great lad who is very well liked by everyone at the club, but with first team chances limited we felt it was best that he went out to get some regular game time. I’m sure he will do very well.

“He was exceptional at MK Dons last season when they got promoted from League 2….. a great kid whom Orient fans will take to in a big way with his performances.”
