Coronavirus: low risk to the UK public

The death toll rises and more cities restrict travel in China due to the spreading coronavirus.

After the UK government’s emergency committee meeting Health Secretary Matt Hancock said:

“The clinical advice is that the risk to the public remains low.”

33 million people across ten cities are affected, however, the impact is not limited to Hubei province.

In Shanghai, the Disney Resort said it was “temporarily closing in response to the prevention and control of the disease outbreak”.
