Dover sack Kinnear
by Frazer Norwell, reporter
Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear has been sacked by the club this afternoon.
The Whites are 2nd from Bottom after 14 games with just 1 win in the league all season. Kinnear’s sacking comes after he failed to turn the club’s fortunes around following a meeting about the poor performances 3 weeks ago.
“Chris has been a big part of Dover’s success over recent years and the board recognise this. However, our current position and form is not something we can allow to continue”
“We have a good setup at the club, a decent playing budget and supporters who want to be proud of their team. We need to move forward in a manner that gives us the best opportunity to progress – that means avoiding relegation as a minimum and ideally pushing on towards the other end of the table.” Said Dover’s Chairman Jim Parameter
Assistant manager Jake Leberal will take charge for Saturday’s game against league leaders, Salford City
