Kennedy ready to claim the belt for Kent

by Callum McAvoy, reporter

Josh Kennedy says that there is no doubt that he will be taking a European title back home to Kent tonight.

Folkestone resident Kennedy is fighting Northern Irishman Tyrone McCullagh in Belfast, in a bid to claim the World Boxing Organisation European Super Bantamweight Title.

It is the biggest night of the 27-year-old’s career who could crack the world’s top 10 fighters if he can take the belt.

“I’m not there for a pay day, I’m there to become the European champion and he’s going to have a very rude awakening when he gets in the ring with me,” Kennedy claims.

Both fighters are undefeated but Kennedy is insistent that he will be improving his 11-0 record.

“There’s nothing that fazes me. I am boxing in his hometown but as long as I’ve got gloves on, I’m going to win the fight.”

Coverage of the fight starts at 7pm on Box Nation TV.
