The hospitality industry has been heavily impacted by Coronavirus as restrictions on socialising forced pubs, restaurants and hotels to close or drastically reduce capacity during large parts of 2020 and 2021.

Prime Burger Manager Sofia Meniko believes that the hospitality industry has been “left in the dark” over the last few years. Business grants which have been offered have not been sufficient for all restaurants and many staff have had to has to be redundant and find work in other industries.

However, over the last few weeks many businesses have been able to recover from the Christmas break as there was huge drop in sales.

Prime Minster Boris Johnson has announced Plan B restrictions have now ended and that England will be reverting to “Plan A” due to boosters and how people followed the measures.

People are no longer advised to work from home and many employers have encouraged their staff to return to the offices.

With the increase in commuters many businesses are privileged with huge profits and an increase in the number of sales.

Restaurants in particular have had a lot of customers and some restaurants such as Prime Burger have extended their opening hours.

Prime burger is located in St Pancras International Station which is in the heart of the city. Many travellers passing through the station are able to come and visit to have a quick lunch or to have family meals over the weekend.

The restaurant had a limited menu when first opening up again but have now been able to add back “favourite food items that the customers were demanding for”.

With the massive boost in recent sales the business has successfully been able to introduce new selections on the menu to try and attract new customers and “keep regulars”.
