Whilst University on its own has proven to be difficult, two students at the University of Kent have made it their mission to seek more for themselves outside the degree.

Michael Eze and Danielle Taylor are both law students who found themselves swaying to the business aspect of life.

Michael had always had the spirit of entrepreneurship as, prior to starting his clothing line, he was a freelance graphic designer. His clothing line ‘P4P’ or ‘Passion for Pain’ was born whilst creating logo’s for a client.

He said: “ I decided to create something, which I thought represented me for once, my friends thought it was nice and I went with it.”

Michael’s ethos behind P4P highlights beauty within struggle.

He added: “Pain is an essential element to success, growth and general character building. They say even at the gym there is no pain without gain or even in relationships, it hurts to love.”

Michael hopes to get to a point where he can focus on his Clothing line full time.

“I feel like if I continue doing what I’m doing, I could see myself in JD.

“The Sky is the limit.”

Taylor’s business was also not created with huge intention, she had initially wanted to get rid of some old items she had, and began selling on Depop.

“I started in my second year of university; it was never meant to be business.”, Taylor said.

After soon realising there was a great demand for certain products, she began to collect ‘rare or hyped’ stock and sell it on social media.

Since 2020, Danielle’s business ‘UK Plug Walk’ has been recognised amongst Hype beasts and collectors as a reputable place to shop.

She added: “ My Snapchat grew from 500 subscribers to 11,000!”

Both Michael and Danielle, being Kent Law students, describe their routines as hectic.

Eze said: “ I often at times find myself neglecting my University work, I try to get my Uni work done earlier, so I have more time to focus on my business, throughout the day.”

Danielle Taylor said: “The free time I do have I spend time selling clothes, shoes and going to meet customers.

“Maybe after I finish University, which is this year, I’ll be more flexible.”

Both students believe the future remains bright if they continue to work hard.
