After last Saturday’s match against Blackburn being cancelled due to weather conditions, Gillingham are playing in Bradford this weekend.

Bradford City, who have now not won a game in their last 10 League 1 fixtures, extended their negative streak on Monday night by losing 2-0 to Doncaster Rovers.

Despite their poor form, Gills boss Steve Lovell knows the opponents will try their best to give Simon Grayson his first win as their their new manager.

Lovell said: “This will be a tough one, especially with them not being on their best run of form. They will be looking to reboot their season.”

Bradford City are one of the division’s best supported team and are only one point above Gillingham in the table.

Lovell said: “They have good support, especially at home. It is a big pitch and they are a team that before the season started would have been one of the favourites to get promoted.

“It will be a very tough game for us but one we are looking forward to again. We will prepare properly for the challenge.”

During today’s press conference, the 29-year-old midfielder, Mark Byrne, kept Gills’ hopes to qualify for the playoffs alive.

“We’ve got 10 games and you never know what can happen.

“Bradford have a good squad but we won’t worry about them, we’ll worry about us.”

Earlier in the season, Bradford City won 1-0 at the Priestfield Stadium and Gills’ number 10 Conor Wilkinson was sent off.

Last time the Gills were busy in a league game, they came back from Portsmouth with a confident 3-1 win.

International forward Josh Parker will not be part of the game as he captained Antigua in their friendly against Bermuda on Wednesday and will face Jamaica on Sunday.
