Gravesend victim ‘branded’ with Gucci belt buckle

A victim of a street attack was hit so hard in the head with a designer belt, he was left marked by what appears to be the iconic Gucci logo.

The 23-year-old was left with a large G on the back of the head from the assault. He and his 16-year-old nephew suffered severe injuries during the assault, which involved around 12 men.

The pair wished to remain anonymous, and were assaulted in Pelham Road, Gravesend, on Saturday, March 10, near Bronte School between 9pm and 9:30pm as they walked home from the train station.

The older of the two, who passed out during the attack, said: “We turned around and they were right behind us.

“The three at the front already had their belts out. They were big designer belts, and at least one of them was Gucci.”

The 16-year-old was wearing a navy blue Moncler coat, and was told the assault would not stop until it was handed over. The jackets are, in some cases, worth more than £1,000.

He was also robbed of £300 and a distinctive red iPhone 8.

Police spokesman James Walker said: “Officers are still investigating the circumstances and no arrests have been made.”
