West Kent CCG could soon reduce IVF cycles

by Karina Pavlova, reporter

Couples in west Kent could soon see cuts made to IVF services available on the NHS, as west Kent CCG tries to reduce costs.

The clinical commissioning group has started their engagement process to get residents’ views to consider whether proposals should go ahead. People who might be affected by the future of IVF are encouraged to attend a public event which will take place on 29th November in Sevenoaks. They can also complete an online survey to express the views on the issue.

About 500 patients registered with Kent and Medway GPs receive NHS funding for IVF every year at a cost of more than £2million.

At the moment, the proposals of reducing IVF services are at early stages and will be shared with the public.
