Kent Football Preview

To kick off our Kent Football Preview, we start with Gillinghamwho host Walsall at Priestfield in a bottom of the table clash tomorrow afternoon, and are hoping to avenge their 2-1 defeat in August at the Bescott Stadium. A win could see both teams rise up to 15th. Steve Lovells men will also be facing former Gills favourite and England international Matt Jarvis, who Lovell coached in the youth teams, who is currently on loan from Norwich. The 32-year-old last played for Gillingham in 2007. Kick off is at 15:00.

Ebbsfleet are expecting a crowd of over 3000 when league leaders Leyton Orient roll into town. The Stones are currently the leagues form team at the minute with an undefeated home record that stretches all the way back to October. Ebbsfleet could move up two places to 7thin the Vanarama National League, only 2 points shy of the promotion places, if other results go their way. Ebsfleet kick of at 15:00 tomorrow.

Further down the Vanarama national, 17thplaced Doverwelcome mid table Bromley to the Crabble tomorrow at 15:00 where they are hoping the will be able to capitalise on Bromley’s patchy away form this season. Both teams find themselves in good form recently, with the Whites winning their last 3 games and are undefeated in 6 at home. A win could see Dover move up to 16thin the table.

Maidstonewelcome 16thplaced Dagenham and Redbridge and ex-England manager Peter Taylor to the Gallagher tomorrow for an afternoon kick off. A win for the Stones could see them move out of the relegation zone. Current Maidstone caretaker manager Simon Walton actually played for Dagenham’s manager Peter Taylor in the England youth set-up. Walton has said he expects a tough game but has reminded his players that these are the sorts of games they need to win if they are to avoid the drop.

6thplaced Dartfordwill be hoping to solidify their position in the Vanarama South play-off places when they travel to 4thplaced Chelmsford City on Saturday. A positive result for Dartford could see them leapfrog Chelmsford in the table.

Tonbridge kick off against Bishops Stortford at 15:00 tomorrow and are hoping to get their season back on track after a torrid run of form has seen them fall from top to 10th. They could move up to 7thin the table with a win, as they attempt to salvage their promotion push.
