Bodies of woman and child are found at flat in Gillingham
Police are investigating the deaths of a woman and a child after their bodies were found at a flat in Gillingham.
Investigating officers have revealed the pair could be mother and daughter, and the next of kin have now been informed.
Forensic officers were called to the flat in Trafalgar Court along with two ambulances on Monday evening.
The alert was raised after someone called the police as they were ‘concerned for the welfare’ of the residents.
The death is being treated as unexplained but the circumstances are not thought to be suspicious.
Emergency services were parked near the flats for several hours, and a police spokesman said officers were making inquiries in the area.
Witnesses reported seeing five police vehicles and ambulances at the scene.
