Non-League football previews – Maidstone and Dover in action

Maidstone United travel to Barrow in the National League on Saturday aiming to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat at Eastleigh in midweek.

Manager Jay Saunders said The Stones have to “move on” and expects the long trip to Cumbria to be another stern test.

“Certainly starting Saturday we’re going to have to defend better than we have because we need to be solid,” Saunders told the club website.

“If we’re not, again, we’re in for a tough day.”

Fellow National League side Dover Athletic make the near-700 mile trip to Gateshead hoping for their sixth win in eight league games.

The Whites won 3-1 at home to Sutton United and sit just outside the play-off places.

Dartford are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six National League South games when they travel to Cornwall to face Truro City.

The Darts could climb into the play-off places with a win depending on other results.

Near neighbours Ebbsfleet United are also looking to continue their good form when they go to Weston-Super-Mare.

The Fleet are currently fourth in the table after six wins in 12 games so far.

Margate are at home to Hemel Hempstead Town needing a win to steer further away from trouble.

The Gate are five points above the relegation zone after losing their last two games.
