“Fake Sheikh” Mahzer Mahmood jailed for 15 months
Undercover journalist Mazher Mahmood, known as the “Fake Sheikh”, has been jailed for 15 months for tampering with evidence in a case involving singer Tulisa Contostavlos.
The reporter was found guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice earlier this month.
His driver, Alan Smith, was found guilty of the same charge after an Old Bailey trial and has been sentenced to 12 months, suspended for two years.
