That’s it for this evenings darts action. Phil Taylor tops the table on leg difference. He is on three points alongside MVG, Anderson and Barney. Next Thursday presents El Classico – Barney v Taylor. Should be a cracker. Goodnight.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:14 pm

Huybrechts 6-6 Barney – A fascinating affair. A point well deserved for the pair of them. Doubling was poor from both but the draw means that none of the ten players have a 100% record after two weeks

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:12 pm

Huybrechts 6-6 Barney – Only 41 to kick off from Barney. But then The Belgian has a bounce-out. Tense up there. A beautifully timed max leaves 80 from Barney. A point apiece? Correct.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:11 pm

Huybrechts 6-5 Barney – Both trade 140’s at the start but it remains on throw as the numbers trickle down to zero. Kim blows a chance on D12 though. Barney needs 90 on Bull. Oooohhh just wide. D4 for Kim and he has a point.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:08 pm

Huybrechts 5-5 Barney – Which way will this one go next? It’s got draw written all over it but can someone snatch it? A sixth 180 for Barney and he levels up on D5 last dart in hand.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:07 pm

Huybrechts 5-4 Barney – Barney begins with back to back 140’s. Then a 139. Huybrechts sticks with though and leads via D11.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:05 pm

Huybrechts 4-4 Barney – Kim leaves the big fish which we’ve already seen from MVG. Not this time though. Double troubles continue though as Barney misses four for a two leg lead. Huybrechts punishes

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:02 pm

Huybrechts 3-4 Barney – Kim makes a total hash of what should’ve been an 11 dart leg. Barney bites back and hits D4. Robbery.

Keilan Webster 9th February 201710:01 pm

Huybrechts 3-3 Barney – okay, scrap that can we play you every week stuff. Barney is back in the groove on D5.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:58 pm

Huybrechts 3-2 Barney – ‘Can we play you every week?’ chants no one in Northampton. But it’s the sort of thought process Huybrechts might be having now. His record against Barney is far greater than that of any other opponent. The Dutchman misses two darts but gets back in the game.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:56 pm

Huybrechts 3-1 Barney – Barney is unfortunate with an early bounce-out but hits back with a smooth maximum. But then he opens the door and invites Kim in to stay with a 42. Huybrechts waltzes in and puts the kettle on with a D16.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:54 pm

Huybrechts 2-1 Barney – The Hurricane’s scoring power always has the possibility to blow you away. Barney is one of those that can live with it but not in this leg as Kim hits D16 for the lead.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:52 pm

Huybrechts 1-1 Barney – Three 180’s in the opening two legs. Barney wants 106 to hold but misses tops. Huybrechts breaks on D10.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:50 pm

Huybrechts 0-1 Barney – Huybrechts has only been in the PL once before this year. He’s also only won once as well…. against Barney. Despite that it’s Barney that draws first blood on D16.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:49 pm

Huybrechts v Barney – Tremendous walk-ons. Eye of the tiger never gets old when the great oak tree that is Barney is walking out to it. Here we go!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:44 pm

Huybrechts v Barney – Should be another beaut of a game for the evening’s finale. Barney produced brilliance to battle back against Lewis last week. Huybrechts was unlucky to lose to Wade. Both can be breathtaking. Both can be frustrating. Barney has the slightly better consistency. Prediction – Barney to win 7-5

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:35 pm

Wight 3-7 MVG – Another bruising performance from The Green Machine. Like Taylor in his most predatory pomp he’ll be disappointed not to have won 7-0. Wright never recovered from four missed darts in the first leg, but deserves credit for hanging on in there. Van Gerwen once again proves he is on another planet.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:31 pm

Wight 3-7 MVG – MVG kicks off with a 180, he’s had enough now. He misses another two darts for the match though. Wright needs 138 and hits single one. That should be that. D16 for the match? Taken.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:30 pm

Wight 3-6 MVG – It’s remarkable that MVG hasn’t hit a nine darter for so long on TV. Again his third dart misses the treble. Wright has his fourth 180 to hang in there. On the wire for a 121. MVG misses another for the match and Wright cleans up 25 for another. Surely not?

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:28 pm

Wight 2-6 MVG – 180 from Wight. The comeback is on!! Maybe there is a Prince Charming. D10 for another? Bingo.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:26 pm

Wight 1-6 MVG – We asked if MVG was going to be the kiss of death, it certainly has been. There’s no Prince Charming that can revive him from this position. MVG misses three pegs though and Wright has a leg on tops.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:24 pm

Wight 0-6 MVG – Wright has changed his darts from the weekend and it’s like the flight weighs a kilo he’s so far off the pace. Chance on Shanghai though… Unlucky. Just misses tops. You know what happens next.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:22 pm

Wight 0-5 MVG – Are we on for a whitewash here? MVG is a huge 33 points ahead on the averages. He breaks the throw again with a D16 finish.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:20 pm

Wight 0-4 MVG – Wright in all sorts of bother here. First 180 from Van Gerwen takes him to a measly 108 average. Big fish is left. YESSSSS!!!! 170 from the Dutchman!!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:19 pm

Wight 0-3 MVG – That first leg could be crucial. MVG already in control of the match and it’s barely five minutes old! He misses D5 for the lg giving Wright a chance on Shanghai. He doesn’t take it though and MVG makes it three zip

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:17 pm

Wight 0-2 MVG – Van Gerwen waltzes through the leg and finishes on D16 for an 11 dart leg.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:16 pm

Wight 0-1 MVG – MVG hasn’t lost on TV for 38 matches. Thirty-eight!! Wright kicks off with a maximum though but fails to finish with four darts at a double. Punished eventually on D10 by MVG.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:14 pm

Wight v MVG – The spiky haired, colourful creature that is Peter Wright warms up the crowd. Wright, in all pink, is sporting a Valentine’s look. Will MVG be the kiss of death?

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:10 pm

Wight v MVG – Perhaps the game of the night on the way. The ever improving Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright against the surely he can’t improve any further ‘Mighty’ Michael Van Gerwen. Wright has had a torrid time against MVG historically. However Snakebite defeated him last week. An upset on the cards perhaps? You’d be a fool to predict one. Prediction – MVG to win 7-4

Keilan Webster 9th February 20179:00 pm

Klassen 3-7 Anderson – A cruise in the end for the two time Premier League winner. You felt that Anderson had Klassen eating from his hand all game – the 122 finish a mere peck of defiance. Bigger battles lie ahead for Gary, as they also do for Klassen who must already have relegation fears following two defeats out of two.
Source: Sky Sports

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:56 pm

Klassen 3-7 Anderson – Gary flies away at the start of this leg. “No one produces a big checkout against me” he muses. Gary gives Klassen a chance but The Dutchman can’t five D4 and Gary mops up D2 to remain unbeaten.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:54 pm

Klassen 3-6 Anderson – Klaasen missed bull for 2-0 in this match. Fair to say he hasn’t recovered since then. Anderson has his second 180 in successive legs and leaves Shanghai. Party piece? No, single five. Klaasen comes back for a terrific 122 finish. There’s your party piece.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:53 pm

Klassen 2-6 Anderson – Gary throws his first maximum as he eases clear in this match. A point is secured courtesy of double five.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:51 pm

Klassen 2-5 Anderson – Klassen’s scoring is okay but he’s not producing enough quality at crucial moments. Then again at an average of over 100 there’s not too much more he will ask of himself. Big 170 fish left for Klassen. Can’t take it. Tops for Gary. 5/7 on double from the two time World Champ

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:49 pm

Klassen 2-4 Anderson – Both averaging around 101 at the start of this leg. Gary doesn’t look like his throw is going to be broken. Tops for The Scot for 4-2

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:48 pm

Klassen 2-3 Anderson – Second maximum from Jelle leave 90. Went for Bull tops and made a hash of it. Gary misses bull for a 130 and Klassen cleans up on D8.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:46 pm

Klassen 1-3 Anderson – Anderson always a nose ahead in this leg courtesy of his power scoring. He takes the leg on D10 after both players miss double tops attempts.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:45 pm

Klaasen 1-2 Anderson – Anderson very impressive against the throw and leaves tops after 12. He duly finds the target for the first break.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:43 pm

Klaasen 1-1 Anderson – Klaasen’s just a shade away from the bull for a break of throw. Gary produces a magic 113 finish to punish that miss.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:41 pm

Klaasen 1-0 Anderson – Three pins straight in the red bit from Jelle who crunches a 180 before cleaning up an 11 darter. Cripes.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:40 pm

Anderson v Klaasen – House of Pain v Sex on Fire in terms of the walk-on music. Think Klaasen nicks that one. Unlikely to nick the game though.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:33 pm

Gary Anderson v Jelle Klaasen coming next. Klaasen has certainly got the game to trouble Garry but The Flying Scotsman enjoys playing against The Dutchman and should win this one. Prediction – Anderson to win 7-3

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:26 pm

Wade 6-6 Taylor – Really entertaining contest that. Some tremendously high quality finishes, not least the 142 from The Power. He ground out a point against Wade in the most Wade way possible. The Machine deserves a lot of credit for holding his nerve in the last leg though. A point well earned.
Source: SkySports

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:22 pm

Wade 6-6 Taylor – Taylor now throwing for the match. It’s been a cracking game full of excellent finishes. Wade deserves a point but he’s up against it. Wade first to a finish though with 161 left. He sets up 56 to claim a draw and is in the top bin to earn a share of the spoils.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:20 pm

Wade 5-6 Taylor – Wade well ahead on the averages – over 100 and seven clear of Phil. Winner of this leg takes a point and Wade is getting edgy. Taylor fails to punish though and with six darts in hand from 156 Wade fails to clean up. Can Phil punish on 142?? YESSSSS! Rolling back the years! Amazing finish on D11

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:17 pm

Wade 5-5 Taylor – Early 140 from Wade puts immediate pressure on the Taylor throw. But again he fails to punish it. Taylor meanwhile continues to drag his first dart below the T20, much to his frustration. ‘Philip!’ he bellows following more poor arrows. 158 left for Phil. Surely not? Ooohhhhh. Just misses D19 for the leg. Wade then misses tops for a 104. Final dart in hand Taylor hits the D19 for a level game.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:14 pm

Wade 5-4 Taylor – Wade kicks off with a 180. The magic nine perhaps, James? Never mind. He follows with 60. He’s cruising in this leg though and finishes with ease on tops. If there’s to be a winner he needs to produce some magic

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:12 pm

Wade 4-4 Taylor – Taylor always a smidge ahead in the leg and it comes down to a finishing shootout. Phil is first to have a try and tucks away 69 in three darts.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:10 pm

Wade 4-3 Taylor – Wade straight on the attack with a 180. It’s a great response and now he turns controller of the leg. He leaves double tops and has no problems dispatching it after a nice marker.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:08 pm

Wade 3-3 Taylor – Taylor’s first dart is struggling to reach the T20. Normally that wouldn’t be too bad for The Power due to the stacking nature of the way his darts lie but today he’s struggling to stack them. Phil in charge with the throw in this leg and holds his darts for the first time with a gorgeous 104 checkout.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:06 pm

Wade 3-2 Taylor – Taylor struggling to keep pace with the scoring of Wade. How the usual roles have reversed in this fixture. Taylor needs another finish of high quality, but can’t take out 144. Wade needs 90 to hold but goes inside on the D15. Taylor can’t finish though and neither can Wade on D4! Eventually Phil takes it on D11. Game on!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:02 pm

Wade 3-1 Taylor – Wade is averaging 111 here. The Machine is the master of winning despite having a lower average, in fact he did such a thing last week against Kim Huybrechts. Bang! An 11 darter from Wade for a third successive break.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20178:00 pm

Wade 2-1 Taylor – Wade is really playing well here. 12 darter in the last leg and kicks off with a 140 in this. Taylor probably needs to match Wade’s 121 for the leg… And gets it! On the bull! Superb response for a break!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:59 pm

Wade 2-0 Taylor – 180 straight off the bat from Wade against the throw. The last leg a classic case of The Machine grinding out a leg but this one shows his quality. Oh James! That’s brilliant! T20. T14. D11 for a 121! Great tungsten!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:57 pm

Wade 1-0 Taylor – Two 140’s to kick off from the stoic pair. Phil is swanning round the stage without a care in the world. Wade by contrast a picture of concentration. Taylor misses three darts for the leg and Wade comes back to finish on D5.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:54 pm

Wade v Taylor – Wade traditionally struggles in this fixture so fancy Taylor to nick this one. 7-4 Taylor my prediction. Here we go!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:52 pm

Wade v Taylor – As for tonight, who knows what will happen. Not two nine darters that’s for sure. Wade will fancy his chances against a relatively unmotivated Taylor but perhaps that motivation was stoked this week when Van Gerwen said he should have retired two years ago – https://goo.gl/o9dR2x

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:50 pm

Wade v Taylor – Should be a good’n this. A repeat of the famous 2010 final when Taylor won 10-8 but only courtesy of two nine darters! He almost had three in that game as well!!

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:36 pm

Chisnall 2-7 Lewis – GAME LEWIS – Chisnall pegs back a consolation but the dominance of Jackpot comes through in the next leg. Chizzy misses double 12 to prolong his agony. Lewis puts him out of his misery on double seven.

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:32 pm

Chisnall 1-6 Lewis – BOSHH!! Brilliant from Lewis as he chucks in two trebles before hitting double tops to take out 160 – the joint top checkout of the PL so far alongside….. Chisnall

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:30 pm

Chisnall 1-5 Lewis – Double 10 for Jackpot. Chizzy appears crushed up on that stage. Lewis outscoring the man in yellow tonight

Keilan Webster 9th February 20177:29 pm

Chisnall 1-4 Lewis – Lewis has raced into an early advantage here. Chizzy out of sorts but remember Lewis lead by this very score before losing to Barney last week
