FOI reveals church thefts across the Kent County

Thieves broke into churches across Kent county over 30 times last year.

Police released figures following a Freedom of Information Act that found there were a total of 36 burglaries and robberies across the county between January and December 2016.

Canterbury had a total of 4 burglaries over the year.

Dartford area had a total of 2 burglaries across its 27 churches but Sevenoaks had the most expensive break in. It lost £2,900 worth of items during one raid.

Thanet and Shepway were free of such crimes with just one burglary reported all year in both towns.
