Bluewater shopping centre are hosting the Under the Rainbow exhibition, supporting up to 60 Kent-based artists who have struggled mentally during COVID-19. The gallery is selling up to 1000 pieces of art, ranging from glass work, sculptures, paintings and even digital prints.

The non-profit organisation gives all sales made to each artist and they hope it will be a platform for new and upcoming artist. The brains behind it, Ewa Page, is a restaurant owner and artist herself based in Rainham.

Ms Page was inspired by a conversation she had with a friend on the phone. She spoke of where her inspiration for her particular art and the theme of the gallery came from:

The Rainham-based artist was inspired by lockdown and she wanted to bring light to people in the dark times. She pitched her idea to her business partner, Alison Ridley who helped bring the exhibition to life.

The pair hope to continue their journey in supporting new and upcoming artists, particularly those who suffer with their mental health. They hope to be the rainbow to their dark skies.

If you’re interested in visiting the gallery, it’s free to visit in Bluewater until the first of November in the Lower Rose gallery.
