Your iPhone could be victim to this new threat

A new virus which can infiltrate your iPhone and install malicious apps without your permission has been discovered.

Security company Palo Alto released a statement saying they found a new threat called “AceDeceiver”.

As of yet, it only targets users in mainland China who use iTunes to install apps but it is easy for hackers to spread it to other regions.

It fooled users by disguising the malware in the App Store as a wallpaper app, which is how it was able to bypass Apple security.

After establishing a connection between the user’s phone and computer, it encourages them to input their Apple ID username and passwords, which were then stolen.

Apple has removed the infected apps but has refused to comment on the security company’s finding.

This news comes only 10 days after the same company discovered the first ransomware virus which targets OS X specifically, nicknamed KeRanger. It blocked users out of their Macs and demanded a payment to unblock it.
