NHS Bursaries replaced by Student Loans for Student Nurses

The government has confirmed plans to axe NHS bursaries for student nurses and replace them with student loans.

The government believes that this move will free up around £800 million a year creating extra nursing posts by the year 2020.

However, some health care officials worry the debts to repay these student loans will act as a deterrent for potential student nurses.
