Wacky Marvel’s MODOK has flown to Disney+ UK

If you’re looking for new Marvel content whilst waiting for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe project, we have good news.

Marvel’s newest animated series, M.O.D.O.K is out now on Disney+.

Unfortunately, if you’re expecting typical MCU live-action heroics, you may have to wait a little longer.

This new animated series created by Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt is completely different from anything Marvel has put out before.

The series follows a villain, instead of a hero, called M.O.D.O.K which stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Yes -that is a real name from Marvel comics.

In the comics, George Tarleton was once a normal human until he was transformed into a giant floating mechanical head forcing him to become evil and birthing M.O.D.O.K.

The series changes up a bit of the backstory but keeps the giant floating head because why not. M.O.D.O.K is voiced by Patton Oswalt (the voice of Remy from the Ratatouille).

The animation is reminiscent of the Adult Swim series, Robot Chicken, so make sure to keep the children away.

This is an adult show, where we see M.O.D.O.K deal with the complications of an everyday adult: Trying to succeed at work, which in this case is attempting to destroy the world, whilst finding the time to spend with your lovely children and wife.

Do not make us explain how a floating head was able to make children. We skipped that biology lesson.

The show was originally set to be shown on Hulu but will also be available on Disney+ in the UK. However, Disney will be releasing the series episode by episode with ten episodes scheduled for the season.

The cast is filled with many famous names such as Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act), and even Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). Plus the series has received good reviews so far.

At the end of the day, you could be wasting your time doing something else. Like writing about episode one of M.O.D.O.K instead of watching it.
